Dr. Hertlein Joins Our Practice Dr. Matt will graduate from Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine and start work at Maria Stein Animal Clinic this month. He grew up in Thornville, Ohio, which is East of Columbus and graduated from Ohio State in Animal Science. He was then a partner in a dairy farm for 15 years.

Drs Stayduhar and Hardesty attend Ohio Dairy Vets Meeting There were updates on HPAI Outbreaks from state veterinarian Dr.Sommers and the owner and veterinarian at the one dairy in Ohio that had an outbreak. There were several talks on monitoring systems including reproduction, health, group monitoring, efficiencies, and automated technologies. Our new OSU Dairy Nutritionist, Dr Kirby Krogstad presented Monitoring Nutrition and The Next Chapter of Rumen Health. We will share what we learned through our newsletters.

 Peer Group Meetings We are having our next peer group meeting at noon at Speedway Lanes 455 N Herman St. New Bremen, OH Thursday, January 30, Ors. Lowell Midla and Doris Ledwith of Merck (SCR) will present on the capabilities of Activity Monitoring Systems. If you have a system, you may find that it can do even more than simple heat detection. If you don't have a system, this may be enough for you to move into the technology that is changing the way we run our dairies. Lunch will be available at 12 noon sponsored by Merck.
